Why are a lot of people I see on the “Tommy Neg” stuff shitting on Tommy over 20? Like you’re a grown ass adult dehumanizing a literal 17 year old who was on the verge of an anxiety attack in front of hundreds of thousands of people. According to Tumblr user riptidehallucinated, the tag caused such stress on Tommy that he nearly cried during a stream while admitting he had been recently admitted to therapy due to how the negative comments affected him. This meant a large wave of negative comments, rude comments, or otherwise criticism began being post on Twitter about TommyInnit. TommyNeg seems to be a tag similar to "crit" or "anti" tags, with posts that are speaking negatively about TommyInnit being tagged as TommyNeg. Thus, the Tweet spawned the tag "TommyNeg," short for TommyInnit Negative. As Jschlatt had recently come under fire for old comments, Tommy was making a joke in reference to that. ![]() do they not know of his wrongdoings? do they not know?! I'm not happy Dream." The Tweet was in reference to how, in fandom, it's common to dislike or cancel content creators for things they'd said and done, even if aforementioned things were from several years ago. He said "They included a few Jschaltt moments in this video. After a video containing comments from creator Jschlatt was posted, Tommy made a Tweet joking about it. The largest controversy surrounding TommyInnit spurred the Twitter tag "TommyNeg" in Jun 2021. Later, Tommy deleted the Tweet and apologized for not understanding KSI's original Tweet. It turned out that on that day a rapper named DMX had passed away, and having not read KSI's Tweet in full, Tommy had inadvertently asked for a shoutout on a Tweet about someone's death. When he turned 17, Tommy commented on content creator KSI's Tweet asking for a "shoutout" for his birthday. He has not stated much on shipping, but has said that he doesn't believe fans should ship him with his friend Tubbo_. ![]() He is also quite interactive with fans on Twitter. He often hosts gimmick streams in which, pulling fans one at a time at random from a Discord voice call, fans may ask him one question or one request. TommyInnit is highly interactive with his fans, frequently including them in videos. He is mainly surpassed by Dream, who has 24 million subs, with GeorgeNotFound coming close at 9 million subs. As of Aug 2021 this surpasses many of the MCYTers who are older and came before him, such as Slimecicle (2 million subs), Technoblade (8 million subs), and Ph1lza (5 million subs). ![]() From there he would continue to grow, and in July 2021 finally hit 10 million subscribers on YouTube. He had a small following in 2019 when he mainly focused on Minecraft Hypixal content, and then in Aug 2019 (around 500,000 subs) was invited to SMP Earth where he met several larger creators, including Wilbur Soot and Technoblade. Though, of all the creators Tubbo_, who is of a similar age, is considered his best friend. TommyInnit exclusively makes Minecraft content, and frequently plays with other content creators such as Wilbur Soot, Slimecicle, Ph1Lza, and Quackity, as well as participating in Dream's Dream SMP.
